The Opportunity
Bridging the Gap Between Renewable Peaks and Demand
Renewable energy is abundant when the sun shines and the wind blows – but scarce when demand is highest or production low. H-Battery bridges this gap, enabling businesses to optimize power use, reduce fossil fuel dependence, and secure green power – even during peak demand or grid instability.
For renewable energy developers, H-Battery helps optimize plant output, provide grid balancing services, and strengthen their overall plant business cases.
Main Areas of Focus
Data Centers and Critical Infrastructure
H-Battery ensures 100% green power backup and grid stability even when the grid fails. It even provides optimized and stable energy costs.
A green, cost-competitive alternative to fossil fueled generator and batteries.
Renewable Power Plants and PtX Facilities
Enabling optimized energy output, grid balancing, and stronger business cases by storing and delivering power when it's needed – not just when the sun shines or the wind blows.
The Maritime Industry
H-Battery, optimized for fuel cell operation, provides green energy for ships – ensuring clean, reliable power both onboard and in port.

- Cost-effective: Low CAPEX, H-Battery stores larger energy volumes for extended periods.
How it all began
It all started when our founder, Karsten Schibsbye, was conducting tests on an alkaline electrolysis cell. By accident, he short-circuited the cell. To his surprise, sparks continued to ignite as long as oxygen and hydrogen bubbles were present. This observation led him to revisit the principles of the alkaline fuel cell, revealing its inherent reversibility. Beyond this, the technology offered high efficiency, a simple structure, and relied on basic metals – characteristics that also made it the preferred choice for NASA's space missions.
